This was about 20 seconds after the FIRST time I ever touched the football in an NFL regular season game! cRaZy huh? Not really...if you know who my daddy is. But still, this pic serves as a reminder of what God can do for anyone if He did it for lil' ol' me! I wasn't even supposed to play in this game...Coach Nolan asked me if I wanted to start at Punt Return a day before the game.LoL To think...I always heard folks say I wouldn't make it & even had folks tell me my high school coach said I'd never make it; "He's too small and not fast enough." The Lord doesn't call the qualified, he qualifies the Called!" #Selah
I came from relative obscurity, growing up in the Bay Area around thousands of "Big Time" D-1 athletes like Roy Williams, Donnie Spragan, Damian Mackey, Vince Amey, etc, etc. I was always the underDAWG, easily. I ran a 4.9 40-yd dash my Freshman year & was forced to play QB my Junior season so nobody ever heard about me as a WR. What did I do? STOP going out & start chasing my dream of being in the NFL & on Sports Center...yeaaH! & this was when I was only 14 years old. I recall passing my autograph out in 7th grade to the 'cute' girls & saying, "You better keep this b/c it's gonna be worth a lot of money*" Is it..no, not yet..but I don't think autographs in general are worth much. Did I reach my goal/dream...YEZZIR!!!
